Acrylic with gesso on canvas.  Small piece.  Business card in picture for perspective.  Completed in 2005.  Portrait of Debbie Harry from the American rock punk band, Blondie.  This was my first attempt at color portraiture.  Also my first attempt using acrylics as a medium.  I had visited Mexico the year prior where everyone called me "Blondie," despite my brown hair.  Debbie Harry is a creative force and I always admired her sense of self and strength.  Hope this one goes to someone who needs a patron saint of Strength to watch over them.

Deborah Ann Harry (born Angela Trimble; July 1, 1945)[1] is an American singer, songwriter, model and actress, known as the lead singer of the new wave band Blondie. Her recordings with the band reached the number-one charts place in the United States and the United Kingdom on many occasions through 1979 to 1981 (plus a sixth UK number-one in 1999). Blondie's song "Rapture" is considered the first rap song to chart at number one in the US.[3] Harry also achieved success as a solo artist before re-forming Blondie in the late 1990s. Her acting career includes credits in over 60 films and television programs.
